Nose Bridge - Correction & Augmentation
Wide Nose Bridge Correction
Osteotomy is a surgical operation recommended to those with a wide nose bridge; focused on trimming the bone, it can shorten, lengthen and re-position the nose accordingly. During the procedure, the nose bridge will be narrowed down and an implant may be inserted for those who need a higher nose. The preferred nose width may differ - women are recommended to have 10mm whereas men are recommended to have 13mm. (This may change depending on the desired look and face size.)

Option A - The Female Line
A wide nose is corrected with osteotomy on the sides of the nose bridge. In addition, the nose will often be made taller via an implant. The ideal width between the left and right sides of the nose bridge running to the tip is 10mm for women but it varies based on your facial dimensions.
Option B - The Male Line
A wide nose is corrected with osteotomy on the sides of the nose bridge. In addition, the nose will often be made taller via an implant ( Learn More About - Chin Implants, Smile line implants, Forehead Implants). The ideal width between the left and right sides of the nose bridge running to the tip is 13 mm for men but it varies based on your facial dimensions.

Nose Bridge Augmentation
Nose bridge augmentation, also known as Dorsal Augmentation, is recommended to those who have a lower nose bridge. Through this procedure, you'll have a straighter and higher nose. There are several types of implants that can be used - silicon, gore-tex, and rib cartilage. Silicon is the most highly recommended as it brings the wanted results and is easily removable (in case of revision) whereas gore-tex is harder to remove. The rib cartilage may be used, but it may result in warping and absorption into the body, not guaranteeing long duration. For more information about the types of implants, click here.
Option A - Bridge Augmentation via Implant
In most cases, to increase the height of your bridge, a silicon or Gore-tex implant is placed in a pocket created by the surgeon. Modern implants can last a lifetime and silicon implants are much easier to extract than Gore-tex if you ever wish to remove it.
Option B - Bridge Augmentation via Cartilage
In rare cases, rib cartilage (recommended) or donated cartilage can be used to increase the height of the nose bridge. However, there is a very high risk of absorption and warping. THis is not recommended in most cases due to poor long term results.
